Outcasts of Vyrose
Fear treads before the Ultek and chaos in his wake. Shadowed and mysterious, the Ultek Houses are scarcely more accepting of one another than they are of other Races.
The Ultek is the dark figure in the corner of the room. A deceptively quiet shade who be altogether far too dangerous for thee to fail to keep an eye on. With black tattoos beneath the eyes it seems they are always staring at thee, silently judging thyne every move. His tall boots may reach past the knee. The rest of his body covered in dark clothes. A long black tunic is tucked beneath runed armor. The spikes soldered onto his platemail clearly tell thee to keep thyne distance. At his side is what would be an entrancing lady. Her hair is dyed as black as the dress beneath her painted armor. If Ulteks be outcasts thou ponders, it is for a reason.
The Ultek House is always battle ready. If war does not find them, they are likely to seek it out. Favoring heavy armor and bladed weapons, Ulteks appreciate all styles of combat. But the preferred style art is Zu-Tep, an ancient Ultek art of war. In their ageless language they paint or engrave runes over their armor and weapons. While other Races teach their children how to play ball, Ulteks are taught how to kill.
For perhaps thousands of cycles Ulteks have had no central nationality to call home. They do not wander nor do they congregate. The outcasts exist instead in sparse groups beneath every banner of Vyrose. Ulteks are known for their lack of tolerance toward other Races and have earned a reputation for being patriarchic. Ultek females seem to serve the males in many houses. However, rumors talk of some overcoming their birth status by becoming a Witch. Regardless of birth however, the Ultek easily finds work as a freelance mercenary for hire. Where there is war there will always be Ulteks ready to fight it.
What goes on behind closed doors is anyone’s guess for the Ultek is shrouded in shadows. Rumors abound of secret laboratories where dark experiments take place. This fearless curiosity also finds Ulteks employed as researchers and engineers. Archeologists tell tales of ancient Ultek machines and devices found buried beneath antiquity.
