The Story of Murshank

Magistrate Validan ~

My lord, by the time myne courier reacheth thee with this word, I shalt be dead. Myne two remaining guardsmen and I vow to make our stand here to safeguard thine silver-haired courier. As to our mission, thou need fear The Army of the Dead no longer. We found the Death Knight's lair deserted. With the undead power destroyed, Cameron's Pass is again traveled by adventurers. Unfortunately sir, as to that thou spake to me in private- the scout reports are thus...

The elven tracker believeth that not one but three Trolls have crossed the area of upper Cameron's Pass and should now be about the Outpost. There is no trace of mobilization in the territory of the Mangrease Goblin Tribe. The horned beastmen thou sayeth plague the Duchy of Mystglenn do gather here in force. These Krow move as if they were a wild pack of wolves, and seem to be following Fallrune Lake to hide their tracks as they descend upon Murshank. There is more, although I canst not explain that which mine eyes have seen, know that I have located what can only be a Shennite Portal. The blackness within and the air about ring true the myths of olden.

Now, forgive me Lord for myne hand unsteadies at remembrance. Through the Shennite Artifact, we witnessed a black titan pass through. Giant hooves stirred Verose as the beast's gargantuan form crouched to squeeze through the towering portal. Soot tainted tusks led way for deep burning eyes, upon the very sight of which my Scout Wing fled in terror. By day we traveled safely, and by night we ran as prey scurrying beneath the hunter. One by one they were taken milord. In the first night we lost half our number; only two of mine scouts remain. Starved and half mad, we do honor the Golden Dragon and stand proud. Sir if this word doth reach thee, I beg please send no scouts to search for me.

The Night Stalker moves with dire purpose. I shall rest in confidence that the Sentinel's Dragoons wilt avenge me. The sun now sets. May the Golden Dragon carry this word to thee upon his gilded wings. Tell mine father that I was a Royal Guardsman till the end.
